We are delighted to introduce the NGOStory of IncharaFoundation . Mr Preetham Rodrigues is the Director of this foundation. He is seasoned social entrepreneur & holds a Post Graduation degree in social work with over 19 years of experience in the development sector.
Child Abuse has always been a very sensitive issue & the pandemic led to an unimaginable increase in the number of reported cases. Inchara Home for Children is a rehabilitation program for victims of sexual abuse which has till date rehabilitated over 100 survivors (girls). They have been recognized by AzimPremji Philanthropic Initiatives and has committed its support for next 3 years. They also had initiated an innovative program named ” Project Angel ” for the prevention of child abuse. This program has received an incubation support from Deshpande Foundation for 2 years reaching out to over 22,000 children across 44 schools. Their prevention program have reached more than 50,000 children and adults. Apart from this, they also run a Model Safe School Initiative which is a comprehensive school for child safety ecosystem and other community development programs including covid 19 relief.
COVID Relief Work-
🍀 They have engaged in covid relief activities such as community kitchen for migrant workers , distributing ration kits to poor families, sanitation kits for frontline workers and PPE kits to the doctors.
🍀Their relief work has been conducted through partners in 8 districts covering 5 states.
🍀Inchara is also a partner with Covid Action Collab Network through which they share the knowledge andresources of covid relief.
🍀Currently, they are running free counselling helpline in order to address the mental health challenges caused by the pandemic.
